Where Are They Now?
The Story
The first information we have found online about the Paddy Cummins Orchestra
was
in August 1959. The band, from Campile, Co. Wexford was advertised
as featuring Larry Jordan on vocals and trumpet. At some point
shortly thereafter, the band was referred to as the Paddy Cummins
Showband. Unfortunately, we can find little else about the band
except that they appear to have stopped playing around May, 1964.
The band was managed by Thomas
Whelan
In December 1960, we know the
line-up was Paddy Cummins (drums), Michael Rowe (Waterford -
guitar), Paddy Hogan (keyboards), Michael Hogan (sax), Laurie Jordan
(trumpet) and John Turbett (trombone). The bass player was unknown.
