Belclare House Hotel Ballroom, Westport, Co. Mayo

The Belclare House Hotel, originally built in 1782 for the Earl of Lucan joined in the showband era on September 10th 1965
when they opened their new ballroom which featured, "the Pasadena sound system, floor heating, air cooling system,
recessed floodlit glass steps, chandelier lighting and a balcony with a magnificent view of the (Clew) bay across a moonlit lawn."
Jack Ruane and his band provided the opening night entertainment while public dancing was scheduled for twice a week.
